“Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV) audio [Read by Max McLean. Provided by The Listener's Audio Bible.] Daily Verse by BibleGateway

Towel & Basin

A learning experience designed for us to absorb the paradoxical teaching of Jesus.

Jesus put it this way: Matthew 16:25-26 if you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life. And how do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul in the process?

This is just one of Jesus paradoxical teachings: The way to lose your life is actually to make yourself the center - to live life ultimately for yourself - doing whatever you think is best. On the other hand, the way to save your life and to truly live, oddly enough, is to actually give your life away - to lose it - for the sake of Jesus.

Community Groups

Mosaic will be a church of "people", not a "place" you go to. For us, the point is not just "going to a church," but being church in our daily lives and everyday interactions with others. At mosaic, commonLIFE in Christ starts @ home and among friends.

Thus community groups gather in homes, but also in other kinds of spaces. Some groups meet in coffeehouses and some in parks. The spaces vary, but the purpose is the same: small groups of people gathering to share life, tell stories, eat meals, pray, serve and grow together in Jesus Christ.

Small groups do different things because different groups of friends do different things. Although they may take up different activities, each group is an expression of church and will therefore take time to worship, pray, reflect on scripture and engage in a group ministry in the world, because that's what followers of Jesus do... without these things (worship, prayer, scripture reflection and mission), you have a club, but not a church.

Groups are relational, relaxed, and meet in various neighborhoods in Nashville, so visit one near you.
When - small groups get together the 2nd and 4th week of each month
What - community, worship, scripture, prayer, service
