okay. So... how do we continue to help all the people who are coming to mosaic grow spiritually? beyond Sunday mornings... what should spiritual formation look like for our community?

well... the college girls small group is a good start.
i'd like to see some more community involvement, personally. we had a little bit going at christmas time with the toy shop and whatnot, but since we're talking about servant leadership i think it'd be a good place to start. |

small groups are a great way to encourage spiritual growth. i think that when those small groups lead to even smaller small groups, it makes for even more growth because of the depth of the relationship that hopefully forms between people.
i also think that the flip side of that same coin is a broadening sense of awareness of the needs around us, starting with those in our community of mosaic. i think the college girls group has some awesome ideas coming up on how to serve mosaic, and i know we'd all love any suggestions anyone might have!
further opportunities for more local/global service are awesome as well for fostering spiritual growth. i think it's always good for us to go somewhere out of the norm and experience a different culture and/or way of life.
i also think that when you teach, you learn. and this goes back to the small groups philosophy-- that eventually the "learners" become the "leaders" and the cycle continues.
i guess everything i just wrote is kind of my definition of discipleship. |
