The ground rules for participating in this (or any) discussion here are pretty simple. Our interaction will be driven by this command: "Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples--when they see the love you have for each other." (John 13:34-35)
We will demonstrate love for one another by debating and discussing ideas. We will not attack people, including, but not limited to, public figures (elected officials, celebrities, criminals), discussion board participants, or family members.
Should you choose not to observe this simple guideline, your post will be deleted. If you make a habit of ignoring this guideline, your posting privileges will be revoked. If you have any questions, you are welcome to e-mail me at shawn@mosaicnashville.org.

I'm going crazy from all of this talk about politics so I want to talk about something else. I have lived in five states: California, Oregon, Arkansas, Massachusetts and Tennessee. Massachusetts was my favorite. I would love to go back, but if I cannot go there my second choice would be Oregon.
Where have you lived? |

woo-hoo, my inaugural post...
Sadly, I can say only that I've lived in Tennessee, although I plan to remedy that as soon as graduate from college. |

Colorado, Montana, Tennessee.
Really, for me, all of these states have had good and bad. i love the green and the changing colors of TN, but the heat drives me mad at times. Colorado is where i was born, and i LOVE it there. not sure when i will return, but i at least plan to visit it again in the near future. |

Born in Kansas, lived there for a year (Army Dad).
Lived in Texas from Age 2 to Age 31. Moved to Tennessee and here I am.
I love Texas and will always consider myself a Texan. There are things about the state that I think are different than any other state in the country in terms of culture and identity. It's not the South, the West, Southwest or Midwest...it's Texas.
That said, the heat/humidity and the size of our city (Houston) gave us the desire to find a new place to live. I love Tennessee and I do not plan to go back to Texas to live for a loooong time. The weather here is awesome (it's all about perspective, huh Shawn ?) The seasons are great. The culture here in Nashville is very casual, which I love. The people here are extremely friendly (similar to Texas). In school in Texas, we learned a lot about the contribution that Tennesseans made to the cause of Texas as a Republic and as a state. I think that the people here are exceptional.
Hmmm, I guess this was more than I was asked. |

Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, and back to Tennessee
I liked all the places I lived at the time in my life I was living there. For example, living in Florida as a kid was FANTASTIC. Everyone had a pool in their backyard so we swam all the time. Not to mention season passes to Disney World. Who could beat that?
Now, I'm very content to be in Nashville. I like it. |

noir,
that's funny. that's one the things i despise most about it. hehe.
i think it's great that we're all so different. it would be horrible if we were a bunch of clones. |

virginia and tennessee... the weather is pretty much the same in both places. i don't think it's the heat so much as it is the humidity that bothers me.
and also the fact that it can literally be 70 degrees one day and snowing the next, then 70 again. jeeeez. |

I'm basically from Canada, but I lived in Oregon when I was a kid, and Indiana, for a short while. I lived and worked in Portland after high school too, I love it over there. And I was up in Alaska for a couple summers in a row. And now of course I live in Tennessee.
My family moved to Belize when I was 16, and I stayed there for about 6 months before I had to go back to Canada to boarding school. I sure loved living in Central America, what a trip.
Now my parents live in Germany. I've only been out to visit them once since they moved there. But I plan to spend more time in Europe. Don't know if I'd want to live in Germany though. Maybe Switzerland. They're about 15 minutes from Basil, on the French/Swiss/German border.
My brother Marty and his wife Andrea live in Seattle, where I spend a lot of time hanging out. We're all having Christmas up there, even my parents are coming. My little sister and her husband are coming too, they still live in Calgary.
I guess we're all spread out all over the place. |
